On his first match as the manager of Manchester United, Solskjaer won it big for Manchester United. It was a five-star win for Manchester United with an attacking football. This is for the first time United scored five past the opponents after the Ferguson era and it came in very first game of Solskjaer. It should bring lots of joy and positivity among the United fans. It was interesting to see how the positive vibes from the manager can impact the level of performance by the players. It was the same United team that struggled to put 3 passes together, today they played with such precision and beautiful passing.

Ole started an attacking lineup for United in a 4-3-3 formation. Rashford, Martial and Lingard started upfront after Lukaku missed because of personal problems. Pogba was finally back in the starting lineup after he was benched by Jose following a series of personal problems with Jose. And it was Pogba and his creativity which made the biggest difference today.

United attacked and attacked from the first minute, and didn't waste any time to go ahead. In the third minute, Pogba drew a foul and United got a free-kick. Rashford wonderfully converted the free-kick into a goal, Cardiff's goalie Neil Etheridge didn't even bother to move. In the 29th minute, Pogba again found Herrera with a precise pass. Herrera got it back of the net to double the lead for United. Later Rashford was harshly judged as handling the ball in the penalty area, the assistant referee awarded a penalty for Cardiff. Victor Camarasa calmly converted it into the top corner for Cardiff's goal.

But United didn't wait too long to restore the 2 goals lead. Three minutes after this, Martial scored a brilliant goal, and the build-up for this goal was missed by United's fan for long. With pinpoint passing that involved Pogba, Lingard, and Martial himself, Martial got a sublime goal from inside the box. The build-up was a joy to watch. United went to the first-half with a 2 goal lead and high on confidence.

United continued the where they stopped in the first half and continuously created problems in Cardiff defense. As a result, Bamba tripped Lingard inside the box and United got the penalty. Lingard stepped up to take this spot kick and confidently scored the fourth for Manchester United. United added the fifth in the 90th minute, again Pogba was involved in it. Pogba found Lingard with another precise pass which Lingard rounded Etheridge and slotted it into the empty net for the fifth.

After five and a half years, United finally scored 5 goals in the league. Cardiff was poor today but the change of winds can be seen at United. There is still a long way to go and hopefully see more success of Solskjaer.
