Manchester United is temporarily into the top FOUR but can stay there for the whole week if Chelsea will lose against Manchester City today. For United fans, it feels like ages before United was previously in the top 4. The occasion had finally come after United comfortably defeated Fulham at Craven Cottage after a brilliant performance from 2 French men.

Line-ups

United made a total of 6 changes from the starting line up that started in the previous match. Solskjaer changed his front line and the back line for this match as he wanted his key player to have enough rest before welcoming PSG in Champions League tie. Among the player who was rested are Rashford, Sanchez, Lindeloff, Bailey, Young, and Lingard. Lukaku started upfront instead of Rashford while Marital and Mata supported him from the wing. At the back, Jones and Smalling started at the center back while Dalot replaced Young. For Fulham, Aleksandar Mitrovic and Luciano Vietto led the line.

Highlights

United didn't do well in the first 5 minutes and it was all Fulham attacking United. United could have been behind in the early minutes of the match as Luciano Vietto couldn't beat de Gea and guide it to the post. Then, Mitrovic and Schurrle, each had a chance to provide the lead for United but they both failed. Slowly, the pair of Smalling and Jones started to settle and United started pushing forward.

In no time, United was ahead in the 14th minute of the match. Herrera cleverly won a ball and passed it to Martial who found Pogba making a solid run. Pogba blasted his shot to the top corner from the very tight angle to provide the lead for United. Then, in the 23rd minute, United added another goal, this time because of the brilliance of Martial. Phil Jones passed the ball to Martial in the United's half. Martial ran down the field beating many Fulham's players before putting it past goalkeeper Sergio Rico to double the lead for United. After going down by 2-0, Fulham was left frustrated fouling United's player repeatedly. The half ended in a 2-0 lead for United.

In the second half too, United kept on attacking and didn't provide any chance for Fulham. Fulham was limited to their own half in the whole second half. One of the best save for Sergio Rico was the volley by Herrera which he kept out. Then, United added third in the 65th minute following the counter-attack. Mmata was fouled by Maxime Le Marchand and the referee gave the penalty to add misery to Fulham. Pogba stepped up and scored the goal to triple the lead for United. Solskjaer then took Pogba out to save him for the important match against PSG. The best chance for Fulham fell to Ryan Babel but he could only hit the post from a yard before he was substituted. With no further goals, United won it by a 3-0.

Betting

In total, I staked 250 SCR for United's victory, my biggest stake in bet Scorum, and the odds were too good at 1.746. It was a big win for me here.

Conclusion

To conclude, after a series of brilliant performance United made it to TOP 4 in the span of just 9 games after Solskjaer took the hot seat. If Chelsea loses to City, United will remain in the Top 4 till the next game week when they play against Liverpool. But United had a series of big matches coming up. It includes PSG in the mid-week and Chelsea next week in the FA Cup tie.
