Chelsea is yet to recruit a top player despite being tied to numerous targets. Chelsea coach Tuchel has done his part by identifying the areas Chelsea needs improvement and submitted the list to the recruiting team. Despite the coach helping the transfer team with the spec of players he wants in his team, Chelsea is yet to sign at least of the coach dream player.

Although Chelsea has seen numerous bids for their top target Halaand but non as materialized as Dortmund as has been adamant about not selling their star player. They have already sold Sancho already and letting Halaand go will further make their team weak. They have rejected Chelsea bid on three numerous occasions despite the blues improving the bid each time.

With the transfer market coming to a close in less than 30 days, More pressure is mounting on Chelsea as their squad needs an upgrade in the striking department. This has seen Chelsea bidding for Lukaku who wasn’t even on their list in the first place and to make matters worst, he doesn’t fit the coaching playing style. Coupled with the fact that the fee that his parent club inter Milan is asking for is quite much for a player of his age with that quality also.

This is a repeat of how Chelsea has conducted business in the past as they always panic to get players and they end up buying players who originally wasn’t on their target list and who doesn’t fit their style of play. With all due respect, Lukaku is a good striker but he is not what the coach and this Chelsea squad need and spending a big ton of amount to sign him will be a mistake.

As a Chelsea fan, this kind of mistake is what we observe in almost every transfer market and for a while ever since Lampard appointment, such mistakes as been averted and completely avoided but seems like Chelsea might go back to their old ways. In my opinion, I ordinary will not go for Lukaku but rather wait till the next season to buy Halaand as Dortmund heart will have been softened as his contract will be drawing to a close.

That’s the kind of patience that has worked in Chelsea favour for the past few seasons but seems like they are ready to abandon it as they are trying to make a statement. Well, huge pressure will be on Lukaku to perform as his huge transfer fee will surely weigh on him. Although Lukaku has proven to be able to cope with pressure over the years and that’s a shadow of the player whom Chelsea sold 8 years ago to Everton.

Knowing the kind of coach Tuchel is, he could fathom a way to make Lukaku work in his Chelsea squad. Tuchel didn’t sign any player in the original Chelsea squad before he won the champions league but the squad is about to change numerous players from that squad are already been sold. A key example is Giroud who was been sold to Milan 2 million and that has even shrunk the quality in the forward department for Chelsea and hence the need for the drastic action to sign a new striker.

Ordinarily, I haven’t been following the transfer market for a while but I know that quality players have been scares but I believe that cheaper and more fitting players to Chelsea system of play are available.
