Pochettino was sacked days ago and in less than 24 hours, his successor was announced in the person of Jose Murinho. So many ex players and football fans all over the world really felt sorry for him because he had done a tremendous job with Tottenham, having put spurs on the map with little funds in a highly inflated football market. Yet his team were competitive, fighting at all fronts to win titles but they always come short of getting the final task done.

The paintings has been on the wall for a long time, with levy the Tottenham chairman frustrated with the near misses suffered. Even the poor form and lack of motivation for the whole team this season contributed to the dismissal of Poch. But then, a long overdue change that should have been made two years ago was activated and Tottenham got a winner in Coach Mourinho to take over the hot seat at spurs. It's not a move everyone would have expected, but it's the move that Tottenham needed the most if they are ever going to secure a title this season.

The appointment of José Mourinho to the Tottenham dug out might look like a desperate move from the Tottenham hierarchy but that is what is needed from them to move forward to the next level. The three years contract given to Jose Mourinho will give him freedom to operate and the spurs faithfuls should expect at least two trophies from the man in charge. The sacking of Poch might seem harsh but they made a statement with such a move and it reads to all premiership top dogs that Tottenham are in the mix too now. The signing of Jose to the squad will help inject the "let go do it" mentality into the whole squad and premiership teams should start taking note.

This ruthless approach from spurs might seems harsh at this time but changes will soon start ringing all around the new white hart lane. Jose being a serial winner will make spurs a version of himself and that might be too hot for the premiership teams to contain. Once more, congrats to José Mourinho and better luck for Pochettino.
