A lot of football events happened last week that shocked the football world and this new week might not offer such a series of thrilling activities. Some leagues as already resumed their league and my favourite league (Premier League) will be starting too soon. the resumption of the league is surely one thing to expect this week and the matches to played might offer jaw-dropping results that might stun the fans. For now, all we could do is wait.

Just this week alone we have seen the impossibility happened and a yes turn no and of course shocker as champions arises. Topping the news that stunned fans is Messi becoming a free agent as Barcelona couldn’t pay his wages despite taking a pay cut of over 50%. We all knew this day will come but no one expected it to be this soon and even the player himself (Messi) is still in shock. Accolades started falling in for a player who gave his all for Barcelona but the game continues for him as he searches for a new club.

Second, on my list is players reconnecting to their old teams. Chelsea football club has had it rough in the transfer window this season but their pursuit for a quality striker was brought to a close as they finally got one. Lukaku was the man to be re-signed by Chelsea and although he wasn’t the first choice, he will surely offer the attacking threat, Chelsea, as lacked in the past few seasons. Inter Milan made it had for Chelsea but the Chelsea board and fans will be finally happy that they got their man. What a way to start a season for Chelsea.

The men Olympic final was played and brazil came on top as the winner against a very good Spain side. The game was tightly contested but brazil managed to edge past their arch-rival and by so doing becoming the first team to retain the trophy they won five years ago. The presence of the FIFA president during the award [presentation even made lit and cleared all doubt about the authenticity of the tournament.

Many would have forgiven Leicester city if they had lost their Community Shield match against Manchester City but they put up a spirited display of football and won despite all odds. This will not only help boost the fox confidence in this coming season and it is also a setback to Manchester city morale and most especially Nathan Ake who gave away the penalty that led to the goal.
