The English league is back, and it came with a lot of fun fare, thrills and also excitement. A second homecoming for some and a chance to shine in front of the home crowds for the first time ever. While a lot of positives was flying around, some top-performing teams and players who had been excellent in recent weeks experienced a downturn in fortunes and ended the day in the most shambolic way possible.

Starting with full gist coiled from the events of the last statement; is where we see Tottenham who had performed excellently well during the first three premiership games slump to their first defeat of the season with three goals deficient against crystal palace. Spurs head coach Nuno was voted the best coach for the month of August, but this month has seen him have more to ponder than he did for the first three weeks.

While the scoreline is not what he wanted, he has bigger problems to deal with as he faces high flying Chelsea in the next match. In the match against Crystal Palace, he had to do without the services of six players of which four were key players, but his next match will see him line up a squad without eight players in which six are the first-team players due to Japhet Tanganga red card and Eric Deir injury.

In order news, Arteta has a minute to catch his breath as the gunners edged Norwich in an unconvincing performance from the reds side. The goal which got the winner for the gunners was scrappy and a very lucky one for Auba. The win might have gotten Arsenal out of 20tth and been placed at 16th at the log table as of 2 am of the 12th of September. Even with the win, the fans still want him out as the performance was unacceptable and unconvincing and the result will not stop the Arsenal board from searching for a replacement.

A hero return for Lukaku has he played for the first time for Chelsea since his return and he repaid the Chelsea faithful’s with two well-taken goals as Chelsea crushed Aston villa even they failed to convince in the opening 45 minutes. Chelsea new boy Saul started the game from the beginning, but he had a terrible debut in which he will want to forget and move on from fast. Aside from that, Lukaku first goal in the first half was something of beauty as he showed pace, dribble and shot precision to put Chelsea ahead.

The second half started with Tuchel ending Saul misery and subbing him off for Jorginho to play the rest of the 45 mins and from there the game changed for the better for the blues. Chelsea had relied heavily on Mendy to bail them out from a difficult situation in the first half, but he had little to do in the second half as Kovacic scored his first goal in a Chelsea shirt. Lukaku added a third in the dying minutes of the game to add some gloss to the scoreline after some subline sprint from Apzi.

Westham might have gotten their first clean sheet since the resumption of the league but it came at a cost of dropping two points and losing their best striker Antonio to a red card. The afternoon match proved to be a difficult one for Westham as they fail to score for this time this season as the Saint continues to impress after getting a point off Manchester United in their last match. The good news of the afternoon for Westham was getting a point while losing their best man for close to three weeks will weaken their resolve.

And of course, the man of the hour got the last read as he performed above my own expectations. I wasn’t even expecting a goal from CR7 and yet he delivered two to set the tone for the red devils cruising to victory. The game lacked intensity in the first 30 minutes as no shots on target as been registered by Man united as of that period. However, things changed as half-time approaches as the Newcastle goalie made a mess of a shot from Greenwood and fumbled it into Ronaldo who lashes the ball spilt into an empty net.

It was the goal that brought relief to the top marksman and he grew silently in the game even as Newcastle United equalised. Ronaldo second was a work of art as he positioned himself well for a pass from Shaw before lashing the ball into the net through the legs of the goalie who could do little to stop the ball from sneaking into the net. From there on the game opened nicely for the red devils and they dominated proceedings after that.

Goals from Bruno and Lingard stole at points for Manchester United as they added more gloss to the scoreline. Bruno goal was magical as he lashed the ball perfect well from outside the box 18 and powered beyond everyone including the goalie whose hand could not reach the ball as it made its way to the next. Pogba made it seven assists in four matches as he assisted Lingard for the fourth red devils’ goal and it was a thing of beauty.

Well, Liverpool is yet to play and of course, a lot of high lights will be witnessed in the match. For now, I would love to read your feedback from this post written above. Please be honest about it
