The conflict between Zinedine Zidane and Gareth Bale is no new topic in the world of football. Its lasted since the 2017/18 season and although no one wants to admit that its still on, its quite evident that the Welshman, Gareth Bale has lost the trust of his coach, as well as his place in the team.

The conflict became very evident back in 2018 when Gareth Bale was supposedly about to leave the club and made a request to be allowed to play his farewell game against Real Betis which happened to be the last match of that season. Sadly, Zidane failed to grant this simple wish and put Bale on the bench for that match. The coach even went on to say that he still wouldn't have let Bale play if he had the chance to make another substitution after his normal three. Quite sad I must say and not in the least professional from the coach. Zidane eventually left instead of Bale and even now that he's back after a year away, the situation still hasn't changed for the player.

Gareth Bale on the other hand after seeing that he isn't favoured, has resigned to faith. He no more works hard, no more trains hard and most recently in their league triumph, he was seen folding his arms and frowning while his other teammates gathered to lift the trophy. In fact, when the team were to take on Man City in last week's champions league fixture, Bale asked not to be put in the team's list and rather went golfing while his colleagues were eliminated from the competition.

It's very sad and its a very unprofessional display from both parties in my opinion. But I personally feel that Zidane, the coach is at fault. He is a leader at the club and should never have even shown that he didn't favour a player especially in a very open manner like he did.

What do you think about this rivalry ?? Was the coach at fault for disrespecting Bale so openly or is Bale at fault for being carefree and not working harder after falling out of favour ? Do let me know in your comments below.
