The Three Lions failed to make up for the loss against Belgium on the group stage. England had a discouraging start conceding an early goal after a brilliant combination by De Rode Duivels. Lukaku made a great though pass to Nacer Chadli who managed to cross right for Thomas Meunier to finish.

That turned out to be a crucial moment. After that Belgium could play counterattacks while England had to go on with a lot of attacks, which is not their best thing. However, they managed to create a couple of opportunities. But their opponents were more convincing. Lukaku spoilt several good passes, especially one from De Bruyne early in the second half.

Late in the game it was all decided when Eden Hazard scored the second goal and confirmed Belgium as bronze medal winners of 2018 FIFA World Cup. They beat England twice, so who will call it undeserved?
