The Three Lions made it! After 28 years without World Cup semifinals they reached the top four at mondial in spite of being dubbed as boring by their critics.

In the Sweden game it was more or less one way. England were the upper side for the most of the match and scored twice quite logically. Both goals came from crosses into the box, something that England really mastered under Southgate. Dead balls were their main weapon in the group stage, and now two great crosses turned into goals. First Leicester defender Harry Maguire headed the ball home after a great Ashley Young pass. And in the second half Dele Alli played not worse after a Jesse Lingaard great cross.

Raheem Sterling could have been another hero of the game, but he failed to use several amazing chances to score, including two one on one opportunities. But even that did not prevent England from winning.

Sweden did not come further than a couple of chances by Berg, but Pickford was again outstanding.
