After a good first half where Manchester United played okay and equalised a first half goal to Everton they played rather poorly in the second half and they had to again depend on poor decision making by VAR to spare their blushes and get them a point in a fiercely contested match against Everton.

It was another good game for Calvert Lewin and the young star again grabbed a very early goal for Everton against Manchester United. Manchester United had to again rely on the in-form Bruno Fernandes to spare their blushes and get them an equaliser in the first half.

After the recess, it was all about Everton and the Toffees were on a row, threatening on all cylinders to get the match winner and kill of the tie.

A beautifully taken Gylfi Sigurdson free kick hit the upright bar and just a little more bend and it would have been in the back on the net. It was wave after wave of attack for Everton and Manchester United had to sit back and wait for counters. The drama however came to a climax in extra time as Everton finally got the second goal they were desperately craving but they saw it wrong chopped off for offside when the replays showed that it instead last came off the foot of Manchester United defender Harry Maguire. Once again VAR denies a team a well deserved win, and we are left to wonder if VAR is not worse than what we once had?
