Éverton finished his player formation at Grêmio but comes from the Northeastern side of Brazil, having his first steps in football at Fortaleza, a traditional team from the region.

The left wing of Grêmio is presenting quality in forms that you rarely see together: he is scoring, he is helping with assists, he is dribbling with incredible ease, and he is boldly confident. Usually when all these things happen at the same time the players ends up in the selection squad, which is something we should see in the future.

The player's style is the most key factor of Grêmio's good year so far. Until 2017 he was a fantastic sub player but at times fans and press argue that Éverton had to come out of the bench to have a good performance. That changed radically in 2018 and it's a near consensus that he is the best player of Grêmio in the season, beating the international Olympic champion Luan AM who is having a season of lesser bright than his fellow regular of the Porto Alegre's tricolor.

Éverton is mostly marked by his speed, dribbling and shooting, 3 distinct aspects that are combined to make a very dangerous attacker nowadays. He is not very tall, 174 cm and is rather skinny which is a good byotipe for a LW. Often times he confuses the markers by crossing the box attacking through the right wing but he is essentially focused in the left flank. Below A youtube video with samples of his best moments

Grêmio's formation is prone to offering him good space to work. The 4-2-3-1 has many players upfront and considering that Grêmio's RM/RW Ramiro is more focused at defending than attacking, he has a clear space to work his magic. The presence of the striker, even if this position is not one that is having great impact for Gremio in 2018, is always a factor that distracts the CBs and full backs enough for Éverton to try dribbling his way through the box.

The quick thinking and the impressive confidence that he is displaying at the moment, as well as excellent scoring skills, make Éverton a good bet for the Brazilian Selection in the near future, let's see if he keeps up with the good work and ends up being called by Tite.
