On a night where things escalated very quickly it is safe to say that Manchester United are back! The Red devils put together a very entertaining display full of panache and poise.

Bruno Fernandes celebrates with Marcus Rashford

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer expectedly gave much needed minutes to Anthony Martial who is still serving his three game ban with Mason Greenwood playing ahead of a diamond midfield that housed Paul Pogba, Nemanja Matic, Van de Beek and Fred.

Edinson Cavani started on the bench alongside Marcus Rashford who was introduced later in the game. The Englishman was expected to be rested in view of United's tough fixtures which are approaching fast.

Despite coming in late in the game Marcus Rashford utilised the little time he had to bag his first hatrick for Manchester United. Interestingly, after scoring a brace earlier, Rashford passed up the opportunity to complete the rout with a penalty kick handing the chance to Anthony Martial who converted from the spot to bring the score lone to 4-0. As fate would have it Anthony Martial repaid Marcus Rashford with a fine assist to complete his hatrick late in the game.

Only Manchester City, Barcelona, Atalanta and current UCL champions Bayern Munich have scored more goals than Rashford in the competition this season.

Rashford will be hoping to carry that form into the Premier League where the Red devils face Arsenal on Sunday. A warm congratulations to Marcus Rashford MBE on his first career hatrick.
