Diogo Jota took the step up in the Premier League this summer when he replaced Wolves with the defending champions from Liverpool. Many Liverpool fans were initially skeptical of the 24-year-old winger, but the Portuguese quickly won the hearts of all fans at Anfield when he started out as lightning and thunder in the red shirt. Diogo Jota quickly became the guarantor of goals and therefore it was also a hard blow for Liverpool when the Portuguese was long-term injured in the Champions League match against FC Midtjylland, which had no significance.

Since the winger's injury, things have gone downhill for Liverpool and therefore Jürgen Klopp was also asked about the Portuguese's significance for the team ahead of the match against his former club Wolves:

It was a big loss. A really big loss. When he was injured, he was inside an excellent period, which only made it even worse.

Diogo Jota was a big player for Liverpool before he was hit by an injury that kept him out for just under three months. Before the injury, the Portuguese played 17 matches and scored nine goals.
