With the new season approaching I have decided to write about my true passion which is West Ham united.

West Ham new kits

This is our seventh consecutive season in the premier league after having been promoted in 2012 and they are at a 500/1 odd to win the league this season. After a disastrous start under Slaven Bilic last season, David Moyes was brought in to attempt to save the team from what was looking like relegation. Even though David Moyes does not encourage exciting, quick paced football, he successfully got West Ham to 13th which was looking very unlikely when the Scot took over. Manuel Pellegrini has now taken over and the owners have decided to spend money after spending 8 million euros on Fabianski from Swansea, 25 million euros on Issa Diop from Toulouse , 20 million euros on Yarmolenko from Dortmund and acquiring Jack Wilshere and Ryan Fredericks on free deals.

West Ham have a mixed start to the season, they must first play against Liverpool which will be a very tough opponent, then we will face Bournemouth and then Arsenal who have made some fantastic signings and the manager Unai Emery will want to prove himself, then newly-promoted team Wolves and then the teal we enjoy struggling against Everton. This is not an easy first 5 games and I am expecting between 8 and 10 points out of a possible 15 from these first 5 matches.

Now that we have secured a new centre back, midfielders, a right back and some quality wingers I personally want West Ham to finalise the Felipe Anderson deal as he is a creative player than can play on the wing or as an attacking midfielder which is what we need as Lanzini will not be back until February maybe even later.

West Ham's pre-season is not very exciting as the opponents we are coming up against are not teams of the same caliber as the teams we will be coming up against throughout the season. However we are playing against Mainz in the betway cup, it is always nice to win a trophy as a West Ham fan.

This is definitely the most excited I have been in a very long time for the season to start as I believe that West Ham could push for a Europa League spot, the owners are putting faith into the manager and the players trust the manager therefore the team now needs to perform at the level I know it can perform.

Therefore I believe West Ham will end either 6th or 7th at the end of the season and go quite far in the Fa Cup.

COME ON YOU IRONS
