Let’s be honest, nobody expected the match between Manchester United and Liverpool to end in a 2-2 draw. Most people thought Liverpool would easily dominate, with some even predicting they’d score five goals past Andre Onana. Many believed Mohamed Salah might get a hat-trick, given how well he’s been playing lately.

But Manchester United surprised everyone. They played well both in attack and defense, showing more fight than expected. Honestly, if United had better strikers apart from Rasmus Højlund and Joshua Zirkzee, they could have won the match. However, Zirkzee showed some good signs in the game, and it’s clear he’s improving. That’s a positive for the team moving forward.

Liverpool, on the other hand, struggled defensively, especially on the right side. They gave away unnecessary goals, and much of the blame fell on Trent Alexander-Arnold. His lack of focus during the match caused big problems for the team. In fact, he was so poor in the first half that Roy Keane said:

"They are talking about Arnold going to Real Madrid, but with this performance, he should be heading to Tranmere Rovers."

That criticism was harsh but accurate, considering how Trent performed. A clip of Virgil van Dijk glaring at Trent after he gave the ball away and didn’t try to recover said a lot about the frustration within the team. The look Van Dijk gave him seemed to ask:

"What is wrong with you?"

After the match, Van Dijk didn’t hold back. The Liverpool captain admitted: "We were bad defensively." His words reflected how much their poor defending, especially from Trent’s side, cost them important points.

Even though Liverpool still leads the Premier League table, performances like this could hurt their chances of winning the title. Fans will hope Trent can focus and perform better in their next game. Liverpool needs to step up if they want to stay on top.
