Perfect coach debut for Roman Mählich at SK Sturm Graz. The Grazer celebrate in the 15th round against SCR Altach a 2-0 away win and thus secure important points in the fight for the championship playoff.

In a poor first half, it's the soloist Eze who can use a Lovric free-kick from close range to make it 1: 0 in the 19th minute.

Altach increases the number of strokes after the break, but still does not come up with any great opportunities. Substitute Grozurek brings in the injury time for the final score (93.). Sturm remains unbeaten in the 15th duel against Altach and comes up to two points in sixth place, Altach still steps on the spot (11th place).

A premiere success had succeeded in storm since the introduction of the three-point rule only Franco Foda, who was victorious in both trainer eras in each case. Gilbert Gress, Michael Petrovic, Peter Hyballa, Darko Milanic and Heiko Vogel started without victory in the Bundesliga.

On Sunday, Emeka Eze (19th) and Lukas Grozurek (93rd) scored their only fourth win of the season. It was a straightforward guest appearance without playful shine. Twelve of their now 19 points have brought the Styrians in the foreign. Against Altach, the runner-up is now unbeaten for 15 games.

Mählich bet on a three-man defense and a more offensive ÖFB team player Stefan Hierländer right next to center forward Eze. The promised personal surprise remained but altogether. It started immediately nine players who were also used in the last game under predecessor Heiko Vogel.

Both teams put the focus on the defense work, but this was at the expense of the offensive. When the opportunity arose, both of them tried with long balls to the top. But both at Altach double storm Joshua Gatt / Christian Gebauer and Sturm Eze was initially little.

The Graz lead sprang from a standard situation: a free-kick from the strong Sandi Lovric landed after unfortunate defensive action by Felix Luckeneder before Eze, who pressed the gift from close range to his first goal of the season over the line (19.). The Grazer closed at the back and let Altach come.

The hosts were harmless. Sturm goalie Jörg Siebenhandl was responsible for the biggest shock in the Graz defense in the first half (27 '), but Samuel Oum Gouet was too irritated.

Altach made after the break the game. Valentino Müller recorded the first and only Altacher shot on goal in minute 53 - he was easy prey for Siebenhandl. Sturm lurked on counterattack, Eze remained hooked after goalie Martin Kobras still on the defender (57), later Joker Markus Pink Kobras (80).

Altach was only in the meantime by Kristijan Dobras dangerous, his free-kick attempt narrowly missed the right Kreuzeck over (69.). Sturm defended the lead sovereign, in the 93rd minute Lukas Grozurek fixed the successful debut of his coach. The Mählich home premiere rises next Sunday against the WAC. Peter Zulj will be missing and he sees his fifth yellow card.
