Marhktayan vs Giroud

Match of the week

Chelsea enjoyed a better start to the Premier League

season than Arsenal, but there is not much between

these teams

It is also worth noting that they met five times in all

competitions last term and the Gunners did not taste

defeat in any of those head-to-head encounters.

Four finished level at the end of normal time.

Don’t forget there was even another stalemate in the

International Champions Cup in Dublin earlier this

month.

Chelsea went into the league campaign under a bit of

a cloud following a summer of transfer speculation

regarding some of their biggest stars.

However, new manager Maurizio Sarri has not had to

contend with too much upheaval, simply replacing

Thibaut Courtois with £71million keeper Kepa and

bringing midfielder Jorginho with him from Napoli.

The Blues put a poor Community Shield display behind

them when securing a 3-0 success at Huddersfield,

although chelsea feel they may be flattered by that

scoreline.

Town gave as good as they got until N’Golo Kante’s

scuffed 34th-minute volley and a Jorginho penalty just

before half-time was another hammer blow.

Pedro eventually wrapped things up, though, and

Chelsea only used World Cup stars Eden Hazard,

Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Victor Moses as substitutes.

This will be a sterner test, though, and we like 18/5

for a score draw from the Chelsea vs Arsenal

Arsenal began life after Arsene Wenger by being

outplayed by Manchester City at Emirates Stadium, but

then again Chelsea had suffered the same fate at

Wembley the week before.

Raheem Sterling opened the scoring before Bernardo

Silva wrapped up three points for Pep Guardiola’s

men, as the Gunners struggled to match the intensity

of the champions.
