Manchester United has always been a team that attacks. Sir Alex Ferguson once famously said that Manchester United is all about scoring more than the opposition. So naturally , it is imbibed in the system of all man utd players to attack.

As per the above argument the best formation for united should be playing with the wing backs and attacking wide. Which leads us with only possible formations 4-4-2,4-1-3-2 or 4-1-3-1-1

The best possible formation which has worked well for LVG has been the diamond i.e 4-4-2 where Blind has been the base of the diamond ADM and Herrara/Fellani at the sides (not wings) and Mata/Rooney at tip.

In Rafael and Luke Shaw united potentially have two fullbacks who have the best techniques while going forward, especially rafael who can deliver lethal crosses and can cut inside as well. Having said that both these players struggle while defending. So united need a proper central defender combination like vidic rio or jhonsen stam to get over the defensive weakness of its young fullbacks.

Team should be DDG, Rafael,Smallings , Rojo, Shaw, Carrick, Herrara, Dimaria,Fellani, Rooney and Falcao
