Barcelona confirmed one hour before the English Premier League transfer window closed at 17.00 local time, Thursday 9 August 2018, that Yerry Mina was sold to Everton at a transfer price of 30 million euros or around Rp. 499.82 billion.

Mina is Colombia's central defender in the 2018 World Cup and played until the last 16 when they were beaten by England on penalties.

Because he was rarely featured as a starter at Barcelona in the Spanish La Liga last season, since joining the 2018 World Cup in Russia, Mina has said he wants to move from the Catalan club.

Previously, Mina was targeted by Manchester United Manager Jose Mourinho after Mou failed to get England center-back Harry Maguire and his application to Jerome Boateng was denied by the Bayern Munich barrier.

Representatives of Manchester United are even rumored to have been in Spain to lobby player agents from Mina and Barcelona. But, apparently, there was no negotiation between United and Barca.

Everton have been intensely lobbying Barcelona for the past six weeks to get Mina. The Toffes can immediately get Mina to add strength to the back line of their new manager team squad, Marco Silva. Everton were also willing to borrow Barca midfielder Andre Gomes to be taken to Goodison Park for 2.25 euro
