Frank Lampard ensured his side came out with all three points in a match between Chelsea at home to their visitors Newcastle United. The visitors had beaten Manchester United and were not small opponent. The match started very well for the home side.

Not long, Williams failed to put Chelsea ahead with a wide header from Callum Hudson-Odoi’s close range cross. Chelsea went on rampage against defence line that was pretty solid as Callum Hudson-Odoi and Mason Mount held the home side creativity park that oftened called Newcastle defence to action every now and then. The second half started with Chelsea boys pressuring the visitors in search of a goal. All thanks to the visitors outstanding keeper Dubravka who kept frustrating Chelsea's goal effort. He ensured Callum Hudson-Odoi’s; who was very outstanding Chelsea player on the pitch deflected shot that fell on Pulisic path was put out. In fact, the keeper was Chelsea’s biggest enemy for the afternoon.

But his resistance was defeated when Spanish left back Marcus Alonso sent wild jubilation across Stamford Bridge at the 73rd minute when he fired pass him a low through from creative effort of Hudson-Odoi who had controlled the ball beautifully from Pulisic to lay a pass to Marcus Alonso. Chelsea would have made it 2-0 through Tammy Abraham. 's tap in in the last minutes of the regulation time if not for the miraculous deflection from DeAndre Yedlin.

The Stamford Bridge fans were all in a happy mood to have secured all three points against resilient Newcastle team to move into the top four on the premier league table.

Frank Lampard has this to say in a post match interview “Today was tough, we had a bit of a problem and we solved it with the way we played in the second half. In the first half we were a little bit safe and a little bit slow”
