Flying emirate is very popular airline name among every internet users and their brand has so much grown that the Dubai based airline endorsement cut across football, ruby and cricket. The airline is a subsidiary of The Emirate Group which is the largest airline in the Middle East owned by the Dubai government. It flight schedules cover over 150 cities in 80 countries and ranked as the fourth largest airline schedule with over 3,600 bookings per week.
These last few weeks have seen the football clubs sponsored by Fly Emirate disgraced of various European competitions and another at the verge of it. In a chat in one of scorum group somebody had to point out this and l gave it a thought. What a coincidence this must sound.
Real Madrid had not experience a bitter elimination from champions league for four seasons on the run since their semi final against Juventus in 2015 but a visiting Ajax team had to put the knife in the cake at the Spanish capital club by ruthless 1-4 score line. Nobody in football world not even the great Octopus would have predicted that defeat margin from the third consecutive UEFA Champions.
The absence of five time World Best Player Cristiano Ronaldo who left the club for Italy have been a major factor while Madrid are yet to find their feet with no better replacement for Ronaldo. With this, Real Madrid season has crumbled with the last trophy they had hope to win just evaporated before their own soil and huge fans after a back to back El Classico defeat.
Paris Saint-Germain 1-3 Manchester United
Manchester United did the unbelievable to become the first team to lose 2-0 at home soil in the UEFA Champions League to go through to the quarter finals of the competition. Paris Saint-Germain blow up an early first leg 2-0 lead against Manchester United to a rounding defeat of 1-3, making the premier league club to advance by away goal rule. Striker Lukaka scored a brace of which VAR was needed to confirm the an inside eighteen yard handball by Kimpembe before Marcus Rashford last minute penalty send jubilation across the united fans. They will be very much pleased with what Solskjaer is doing with the young players.
Nine Man Arsenal got a shocking defeat last night in UEFA Europa League when Rennes who had beaten Spanish side Real Betis to put them in a more or less tough position to be eliminated from the competition if they fail to up turn this first leg loss when Rennes comes visiting at Emirate Stadium. Ismali 87th minute goal was able to seal victory for his cub side after Monreal deflected the ball to his own post followed by Bourigeaud volley but Arsenal only goal of the night from Iwobi was not enough.
Benfica lost to Dinamo
Not enough with their losing on emirate jersey Portuguese giant Benfica in the Europa league lost to Croatia champions Dinamo Zagreb when Olmo was brought down in inside the eighteen yard box after latching on to the end of a pass from Oršić. Striker Petković wasted to time to blast the ball down the middle to score his first goal in the Europa League. With the score line 1-0, Dinamo Zagreb held on to the last whistle of the game in a match dominated in possession by Benfica. This will mark the second longest time Dinamo will last in EUFA competition and can go on to make it to the next round if they can hold on to their lead when the return feature will take place on March 14th.
Seeing all the emirate clubs suffer a shocking defeat in the hands of the opponent with Real Madrid and PSG already eliminated from UEFA competition, I don’t really know what this means to The Emirate Group but am certain that one or two person from the marketing department may likely give a thought about this. Anyway, this is just football and has nothing to do with the way the airline operates.
