Italy this evening extended their lead on group J in the ongoing Euro qualifies amongst the Europeans countries. Italy where drawn in group J along with 5 other countries which includes Finland, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Armenia, Liechtenstein and Greece. All the teams have faced each other in phase one of the qualifiers and will be preparing for the return legs.
Italy by passed their opponent Armenia some hours ago with a 3-1 in front of their supporters. Armenia is understood to be one of weak football team and the result is no surprised to any football follower. The game started very well for the host side as their zeal in the opening minute of the game paid off as Alexander Karapetian put them ahead on the 11th minute but was later booked for a foul in the 26th minutes. His yellow card came some seconds after Gevorg Ghazaryan and Marco Verratti were showed yellow by the central referee. Andrea Belotti equalized 17 minutes later to cut shot the home team happiness. At 45th minutes, Alexander Karapetian put his team on disadvantage as he got his second booking of the evening and was shown a red card.
10 against 11 isn’t a good one when a weaker team is in the receiving end. Italy ball possession increased to 67%. The some team solidity at the back meant Italy had to press high to search for the winning goal. However, the Aramenia defence was broken by Lorenzo Pellegrini in the 78th minutes and 2 minutes later, Aram Hayrapetyan was forced to scored an own goal. The score line remained the same til 90th minutes with Armenia refusing to concede more.
The build of the first stage saw Italy dismissed Finland 2-0 followed by a whooping 6-0 against Liechtenstein in Marc at home. A 3-0 win over Greece away and 2-1 over Bosnia in home features in June saw them on an unbeaten run. Italy this evening continued their dominance with a 3-1 win over Armenia away. This mean that Italy has accumulative 15 points lead with 16 goals haven only conceded 2.
It is no doubt that the campaigned will end Italy as group leader for group J being the highest ranking team in the group by FIFA rating. Italy has not being fantastic in recent years in international tournaments but with in influx of Italian manages such as Ancelotti, Conte, Sarri etc, the Serie A looks promising and a lot of home talents are going shine for the national team.
