Racism is nothing new to sport and has been a very big issue to contend with when it comes to the world of sports. While the football governing bodies at various levels are making frantic effort to eradicate the menace through club fines, teams playing without their fans to heavy sanctions but many football fans across different leagues still find it difficult to change their notion about the dam act.

Last weekend in a pressure tensed match between Chelsea and Manchester City that ended in a 2-0 score line, Manchester City forward Sterling had that he was racially abused by a Chelsea fan during Chelsea versus Manchester City game when he heard from the stand being called f**k black c***. The striker said he laughed off the abuse and has received millions of applause the way he handled the issue. This was widely condemned in strong terms across board and Chelsea was particular about it when the news from the club site had it that the club in no way tolerate racism and as well will assist the police to make sure the fans culpable in the offence were adequately punished.

60 years old Colin Wing’s face was unmasked by the camera at the stadium screaming insults at the strikers is from Beckenham located in south-east London, married with two children, lives in £500,000 house and former BT manager. In his defense, Mr Wing said the camera was able to pick him up because his seat location; which is at the front and that if he had a bad record of using or exhibiting those behaviors the camera should have caught him over the years. Police who are yet to arrest Mr Wing according to their investigation as reported by Wing himself said that all the men who were by him denied hearing anything of such.

A further investigation into his neighborhood by form of interview has it that no report of such altitude has been observed. Collins and his family are very neighborly, l have never heard him make racist comment on of the neighbors had confessed.

Mr Merce who has been a 20 years season ticket holder at Chelsea has denied ever hearing a racist abuse hurled at the opposite team players from his seat.

Chelsea head coach Mariuzio Sarri really condemned the act calling it ''disgusting''

Mr Colin Wing behind this unfortunate incidence yesterday in his social media account apologized to Sterling, saying he never used the world ‘’black’’ but admitted using a vulgar words which were uncalled for. He said it was immature for him to have used those words but it stemmed out of the tense atmosphere in the stadium but vehemently denied that the abuse was racist. ‘’I got carried away’’ he said. His nemesis has span beyond the clubs ban after watching the club matches for 50 years now. He however shockingly professed to have lost his job at his place of work because of the incident. The other three men identified with him have also received ticket suspension sanctions by the club.

‘’ I was completely out of order, but I have lost my job and my season ticket now, so everybody got what they want. So why can’t you leave me alone?

Personally I don’t want to draw a conclusion yet about the whole saga as we awaits police investigation into the matter but I want to point out that the reactions that have followed Mr Collins from his stadium ban and job lose; quite unfortunately should be some control measures clubs and the public should imbibe to curb the menace of abuse especially in league where they are still prevalent. Racism should be something that should race its ugly head in a league followed by people all over the world. With this type of outcry and condemnation, the people who engage in such ugly act will definitely have a rethink.
