It is no longer news how Maurizio Sarri led his Chelsea team to clutter at Etihad on Sunday evening encounter of a fight of two big team which left on looking far less than a division two team. I believe Frank Lampard with his Derby team could have done better if given opportunity to represent Chelsea in that match. However, the game has been done and dusted but the lesson Sarri learns from this will determine if he is at Chelsea to stay or experiment.

The signing of the Italian tactician was a fresh air to the team and club after a pathetic parting away with former boss Anthonio Conte on the ground of broken relationship with the board and players but tactically wise, he had a lot to offer Chelsea on the long run. Sarri can as a coach to rebuild the team but seems to the falling along the pack with his style.

Sarri can’t motivate his players.

No coach has ever being successfully without having the ability and gods to shout at the players when they make mistakes or give them that psychological energy from the sideline. Unlike Anthonio Conte and most coaches that have led the club, there were elements of jiggering the players and fans.

Conte and Mourinho are typical examples that play the game emotionally along with the players. However, we are seeing the opposite from Sarri who referred to be taking lesson note all through the game with fewer talks. If the players must fight back from a psychological point of view, then it must start form the bench. Accusing the players week in week out for lacking motivation is absurd.

Jorginho Factor

Sarri from the unset of his career at Chelsea pointed Jorginho as the man at the heart of his philosophy which the board did everything to get him to the club. His arrival not doubt brought a new live and cheers among Chelsea faithful but that has gone long time when the witnesses of the team began to be exploited. Yes, this must be his first season in premier league but at his edge shouldn’t find adapting to his role too difficult.

His space, eye sight and strength as well as ability to mark the ball have been like that little child learning how to work. One would expect that being the heart on the Sarriball, Jorginho who at least have enough assist to his name if not the goals.

Jorginho can’t assist

Jorginho can’t run

Jorginho can’t shoot

Jorginho can’t mark

Jorginho can’t defend

No plan B

Those who follow Chelsea games will attest with me that Sarri has in all the matches he lost couldn’t muster a plan B for his boys to see if result can be gotten and that is the bases for his weakness. Every team now knows once Jorginho is locked out in the midfield, Sarri is left dumb founded for the rest of the match.

This may prompt me to say that, Sarri lacks the ability as a coach to read games which coaches like Mourinho are notorious with. His changes in a game say it that he entire can’t read games but keep taking lesson note to no end.

Conclusion

If I must conclude in a sentence here, is either Jorginho or Sarri head any time soon. If Sarri continues to be stubborn with Jorginho without looking at the reality or listen to his players body language, it will definitely cost him his job except miracle happens in other department of the pitch.
