DISCLAIMER:I am a Real Madrid fan and a supporter of Cristiano Ronaldo, and I have been since his early Manchester Uniter career, but I will try to be unbiased as possible.

I will not say that it one is better tha the other, because first of all, they both play different positions (yes, I said it. I'm not using it as some sort of excuse, but it is the truth). Second of all, their playing styles are different. Cristiano is a goal scoring minded player who likes to put himself into just the right position to get the perfect pass for a goal. Yes, he used to dribble a lot, especially when he was at Man United, Heres a video of his dribbling skiil at united👇

BUT he had to change his gameplay and be a more goal scoring player after he joined Real Madrid (which is why he is their all time leading goal scorer right now). Messi, on the other hand, has always been the player with the ability to dribble past multiple defenders, find the perfect space for a pass with his amazing vision, or just score a beautiful goal.

Yes, it is true that Ronaldo has been showing signs of "slowing down" at the start of recent seasons, BUT he is still doing it well at Juventus. He COULD potentially help them win that illusive 3rd Champions League title.

Both players have achieved a lot individually and for both club and country. To say that Ronaldo is better than Messi because Ronaldo helped Portugal win their first ever international title is absolutely criminal. The man has won the Olympic gold medal and led his team to multiple international tournament finals. Yes, they lost all of them thus far, but he certainly contributed to the team even reaching a final. And another, Messi does not have to prove anything by playing for a different team in a different league. He is and always will be a footballing legend wherever he plays. Though it would be nice to watch him in the EPL, he does not have to leave. There is nothing wrong with being loyal to the team that introduced you and your talent to the rest of the world.

All in all, I shall never take part in debates about grown men kicking the ball around the pitch and scoring goals. The debate brings out the worst in people as they resort to name calling, swearing and accuse you of "knowing nothing about football" just because you don't share the same opinions. Lastly, don't let let people tell you that you know nothing about football just because pro players and managers say one player is better than the other and you disagree with their "professional" opinions.

Both are the best of this generation, and possibly any other generation of football. Let's enjoy it while it lasts because we may never have another Messi or Ronaldo for a very long time.
