Starting his career at only the age of 15, he was so young to be disciplined and mature but today these are the things he's known for. Santos FC picked him at the age of 15 and he banged 4 goals on his debut. Coming from a footballing family he knew how it worked and how he was supposed to play.
His father was also a Santos player but his career came to a sad end. People feared the same might happen to him because of he was young and had a relatively weak physique. That wasn't all next year he bought home the most coveted trophy in football by playing a phenomenal world cup and scoring two in the final against the hosts themselves. He fulfilled his promise. Not only that but all of that was followed by two more world cups, two world championships and nine sao paulo cups.
He is one of the most decorated footballers in football's history and one of the very few that completely revolutionised football along with Cruyff and Puskas. Their concepts were total football but Pele bought back to Brazil what they were best at, back to their roots, he bought them back to ginga football.

He can never be compared to anyone because he has done only so much for football and although he played in an era with no offside rules and he still gets criticized for that, there is no doubt that he is one of the GOAT's if not the GOAT himself. His legacy can't be compared to anyone. He may not be the best despite scoring 500+ goals along with many trophies but he surely is the one and the only.
