Raphael Varane.

Raphael Varane will appear in his 16th career final [which includes 4 CL finals, 3 CWC finals and 2 UEFA Super Cup finals] against Croatia tomorrow. He has won all of those finals and he is still just 25 years of age. 🔥

Despite being just 25 years old, Raphael Varane will take part in his first world cup final and that is something extraordinary after a successful  Champions League final win with Real Madrid and he explained what it will take for his side to be successful in other for them to win the world cup.

On The Final

"We are very excited and I personally am especially pleased to play in what will be my first world cup final knowing fully well that if accomplished we will be part of history.

"I didn't imagine this, that is the truth and that's the reason I'm really enjoying everything that is happening to me. I know I must keep learning and improving but I set very high goals each year and every season is a challenge for me and the team. It isn't easy to reach this point of the season where you still have a chance to win so many important titles."

On Scoring In The Final:

"Yes of course you always dream about that. It would be very nice to be able to score in the final but the first thing I must get right is my defensive work. The most important thing is to win the final, regardless of who scores."

On If World Cup Is Won By Head Or Heart:

"With both the head and the heart. The effort required is enormous. I expect a great intensity at the start of the game, on many occasions that isn't the case. Every moment of the game is decisive so you have to be very united. We must defend together and attack together. That is fundamental in every game but even more so in a final where the little details make the difference."

On how he acts in the dressing room:

"I'm very calm and I prefer to observe more than to speak. That's just my way of being. On the field I speak more, much more, in order to direct my teammates if it is necessary. On the field, I assume my responsibility but in the dressing room, I'm more calm because I'm one of the youngest and still have a lot to learn."

Varane is of course very used to be pressure finals having just played in the Champions League final two months ago and even that was far from his first big game:

A tally of Varane's appearances in big games:

 Copa Del Rey:

2/2 semis won

UEFA Supercup:

FIFA Club WC:

Regardless of the result, he should be proud of what he has achieved
