Julen Lopetugui Possession Football

Not many positives to be honest. It's almost a tactical mirror image of our game against Sevilla minus the marauding that our defence took in the first half.

Lopetegui has been really predictable with his game plan now. He's not ready to experiment and his slow build-up is really easily disruptable through organised pressing. It's a red flag looming large and it's going to cost us the league because la Liga teams lay a very high emphasis on pressing superiority and even minnows aren't afraid to come out and hound for the ball.

That being said, we had our backs against the wall for 35 minutes and then Atletico tapered their intensity because of the drained energy.

•Courtios the hero of the night

COURTIOS-Hees been so good since coming to the first 11 if not for our mistakes at the back by this guy Will already must have had clean sheets in previous games, Yesterday night he was our Superman, made a couple of saves that could have easily be converted.he had a good game.

•Benzema Is Lost Again

Benzema with 0 shots on target in his last 5 games,Benzema disappoints me day in day out ,am even fed up of defending him against his critics, its like he doesn't have an eye for goal... When your team has ball in attack, the primary instinct of striker should be going to opposition box.,but whenever our midfielders has ball benz starts moving to flanks & trying to receive the ball which makes lack of focal point in the attack.. He just wants to make play rather than making direct runs..I really don't understand why julen lopetugui never starts Mariano in the game who knows with him in attack with Benz,we might score easily, Lopetugui needs to understand this

•Ceballos Proven Himself

Loved how Ceballos coming on just upped our midfield game leaving Simeone in panic mode. He's brought on Partey for Costa. If that's not playing for a draw, I don't know what is. They've been bred in that mentality.

MATCH REVIEW

Sorry to say, we're living on the edge of the cliff with this front line . Bale and Benzema are not the type of players you can count on for the whole season. That being said, Benzema makes our forward line functional in a massive way.

I absolutely love Lope responds when he's being outdone! His changes proved so vital in almost every match we've played this season. But if he's going to get fired someday, it only boils down to the fact that he didn't go for a world class striker when the team was in desperate need of it.

Florentino or Lope, whoever took the decision not to replace Ronaldo, will probably repent if the season turns out to be in shambles!

And lastly, Dani Ceballos. Man of the second half for me. Changed the entire attitude of the team on his own. His enthusiasm, and the hunger to recover every ball lost brought back the tie in favour of RM. I only expect him to get better.

Asensio, as I've said before, needs to work on his decision making. When you try to overdo things, it gets complicated. Asensio clearly needs to release the ball quickly and improve his vision.

Things need to be changed big time or we're totally doomed considering Bale's fitness issues and Benzema's inconsistency!

Hala Madrid Always!!!

Thanks!
