Hello Friends and welcome to English Premier League Contest #35.

This Gameweek has stunned me completely as the Saturday before Christmas hit Manchester City and Chelsea at home. Crystal Palace may not have had a great season thus far but to beat defending champions at Etihad Stadium is no less than a miracle. In a similar event, we saw Leicester City defeating Chelsea at Stamford Bridge with a clinical finish from Jamie Vardy. After yesterday the tables have turned completely for Liverpool as they are enjoying a four-point lead over Manchester City which will for sure give them a breathing space in future clashes. Chelsea also slipped to fourth with Tottenham moving into third with a game to play later today against Everton. We also saw Ole Gunnar Solskjaer taking charge of Manchester United for the first time as he led them to an astonishing victory over Cardiff City by scoring five goals to one. Now, the game that will be played today is the one I am focused about as it will be a huge game for Tottenham Hotspurs and victory today can take them to 42 points which will only be two less than Manchester City.

Recent Meetings

Take a look at the recent meetings of the two teams and what we can see loud and clear is that the previous records are well and truly in favour of Tottenham. Tottenham will need this momentum and confidence when they step in Goodison Park one more time against a side they have had a good run with. Tottenham will surely feel the extra pressure of the game as it happens to be a big one for them and their fans. Everton, on the other hand, has been good at home with an unbeaten run so far with four wins and two draws at home in their six home fixtures. They will have that home advantage and it will naturally boost the confidence of the team against any of the opponent.

Everton Chances

Everton is one of the teams in the premier league we expect to be near those traditional top six but that has not been the case this year as they are currently at the eleventh spot in the league. With all this being said this side has been completely different at home and are still unbeaten at home with four victories and two draws. Everton has not been in a great form this year as they have managed to pick up a single point in games they could have won and then lost to top six pretty easily. Everton will be facing Tottenham today in a home game and it seems to be very unlikely that they will come out victorious except for the fact that they have home advantage and figures at home this year which suggest they can still be unbeatable at home. Their main reason for home victories this year has been Richarlison as he has scored four times in his last four home fixtures with support from Gylfi Sigurdsson. Tottenham will be coming hard at them today and it is also true that Everton has been able to create chances but the main point of discussion for the team should be the conversion rate and if they improve it this time it can be a great game to watch out for.

Tottenham Chances

Tottenham is staying in the top three after Chelsea loss to Leicester City at home and a win today for Tottenham against Everton will give them five points lead over fourth and fifth spotted Chelsea and Arsenal. Tottenham will like to make it four wins in a row if they win today and they will only be separated by two points from Manchester City which clearly tells us that it will be a big game for them after yesterday's massacre. Tottenham has been consistent in the season so far and their hard work is certainly paying them back, one example of that would be the game against Burnley which was quite clearly moving towards a draw but their constant attacks and moves resulted in a fine goal from the veteran Christian Eriksen. Tottenham will be confident about today's game as they have a balanced side to take them through and a leader in the shape of Harry Kane who has been scoring too many goals against Everton. I am hoping that it works out in favour of Tottenham today as it will make the league more interesting and hard for all the teams right there at the top. I will be predicting a close game with a win for Tottenham by only one goal. You can tell me about your predictions below.
