Hello Scorumians and welcome to English Premier League contest #39.
The previous game week of English Premier League ended on an interesting note with a narrow escape for Liverpool as Crystal Palace played the game of their lives. Arsenal, who lost to West Ham United in a game which was supposed to be an easy trip for them held on to their nerves to beat Chelsea with two goals to nil. There are no games scheduled for this weekend but the football fans will surely get a chance to witness some mid-week games which are scheduled for the next week. The game that we are going to discuss today is going to be played between Arsenal and Cardiff City on Tuesday, 29th January. At first, let's announce the winners of the previous contest.

Let us now come back to the game we will be discussing in today's blog which is going to be played next week on the 29th of this month. Arsenal has recently shown a good form at the Emirates Stadium by defeating Chelsea 2-0 at home. Arsenal will be strong at home and high on confidence as the opponents have failed to beat them even once so far which tells us that Arsenal side will clearly start as favourites for this one. Cardiff City is currently at the 18th position in the league table and to face Arsenal at Emirates is going to be a tough outing for them. Let us take a look at the current form of the two teams.
Form Guide
The recent form guide indicates at the inconsistent performance of the two teams. Arsenal has only managed to pick up two wins in its last five fixtures which include a disappointing loss to West Ham United. Cardiff City has only managed to win one game in its last five fixtures and they are supposed to meet Arsenal which has an unbeaten record against Cardiff City. Clearly, Arsenal will be too hard for Cardiff at home but they will still have 90 mins to make a change to all the stats shown for this game.
Cardiff City Chances
Cardiff City has only managed to win five games in the league so far and its record against the traditional top six has not been that great too. On Tuesday, they will be facing Gunners at Emirates and as expected it will not be an easy away game for them as Arsenal has been brilliant at home. To make a difference this time around, it is important for players like Callum Paterson, Victor Camarasa and Josh Murphy to put a show and present the best in them. We have seen Arsenal having issues in the defence and that is exactly where Cardiff City can make a move with some strong runs and perfect finishes. All in all, we can expect Cardiff City to at least play the best of their games to give their opponents a fight.
Arsenal Chances
The new look Arsenal has been very impressive this season except for their unpredictable losses to some lower half teams of the league. The most interesting thing that I have enjoyed this season is the duo of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette. Their coordination and goal scoring ability literally puts the Emirates Stadium on fire and I am hoping that this X-factor continues to do well for the team whenever they get their chances to make it so. Arsenal will be starting as a better team against Cardiff City as the team will be more confident after their victory against Chelsea in their last fixture. Chelsea is only three points clear of the fifth spotted Arsenal which gives Arsenal an opportunity to put extra pressure on them by winning the game against Cardiff City. It will be great if the team could move ahead of Chelsea which is currently at 4th in the league table. I am expecting Arsenal to score at least three goals against Cardiff City and a clean sheet will be a complete result for the team.
