Galatasaray is recording the next point loss. Despite a 2-0 lead against the promoted Caykur Rizespor, the game ended in a 2-2 draw. This was the fourth time in a row that Fatih Terim's team, who are still under suspension, had played a draw in their own stadium. In addition, the yellow-red team only scored two points in the last three league games. Galatasaray now has 25 points after the points division and falls back to fifth place for the time being. With eleven points, Rize remains last in the standings.

Garry Rodrigues (40), who had made an energetic start to the home side, took the long-awaited 1-0 lead for the Süper Lig defending champions shortly before the half-time break. Eren Derdiyok scored a fine header after Yuto Nagatomo's cross to raise the score to 2-0, but Rize's visitors did not give in and became more courageous after trailing 2-0. Aminu Umar (68.) finally shortened the score to 1:2.

After the follow-up, Rizespor sensed his chance and repeatedly played high balls behind the defence of Galatasaray. The effort was rewarded in the 80th minute. A few minutes earlier, Braian Samudio's header was denied, but then the Paraguayan scored spectacularly by direct inspection with the outside rider the more than worth seeing equalizer for Rizespor. The ball went untenable for GS keeper Fernando Muslera in the angle.

After a duel, substitute Martin Linnes (87th) fell in the opponent's penalty area. The hosts demanded penalty kicks. Referee Ali Palabiyik trusted his colleagues at the video assistant and continued to play.

In injury time, Samudio (90.+2) and Umar (90.+5) gave Rizespor two huge chances to win. But both players left their chances unused. The final score in the Türk Telekom Stadium was therefore 2:2. Galatasaray will face Medipol Basaksehir in the top away match on the next matchday. Rizespor receives Aytemiz Alanyaspor.
