In the last few days, the Turkish media in particular have been reporting more and more on the likely departure of record champions Galatasaray. In particular, the back-up of the yellow-red team around Serdar Aziz and Ozan Kabak was the focus of the reports. The fans now have the impression that in the second half of the year a completely new defensive line will be seen in the Türk Telekom Stadium. And who knows, maybe Coach Fatih Terim is thinking of a new start in the four-man chain, which has only rarely been able to convince.
Serdar Aziz and the Maldives vacation
The signs are goodbye. Coach Fatih Terim apparently no longer wants the 28-year-old central defender in the team. Serdar Aziz may have faked an injury due to his upcoming vacation in order not to be on the squad in the last league match against Demir Grup Sivasspor. According to media reports, the Imparator has informed the club management that Aziz is no longer part of his plans. The manager of the former Bursaspor kicker then spoke to the press and at least confirmed the reports of a possible departure.
Now the defender is said to have stopped his Maldives holiday prematurely in order to apologize to his coach. If Terim accepts the apology, the blond guy will remain, otherwise the board around President Mustafa Cengiz will try to sell him. Furthermore, the gazettes reported that in the event of a possible departure, the contract could also be terminated, because Aziz expects the record champion to pay 1.6 million euros.
Ozan Kabak in the focus of the big players
Is shooting star Ozan Kabak also about to jump? Several offers should already be available on the master's table. Actually, the board is pushing for an extension of the contract, but the efforts have so far been unsuccessful. The problem: The then Galatasaray leadership around President Dursun Özbek was only able to sign a three-year contract with the then 17-year-old youngster for age reasons. However, the current board overslept to extend the contract with the young central defender early in the summer.
In addition, the manager of the talent insisted on a seven and a half million euro exit clause. This withdrawal clause has now led several top European clubs to extend their feelers to Kabak. Meanwhile, his manager is trying to force a change. But when teams like Manchester City, Manchester United, AS Rome and Borussia Dortmund are on the doorstep, that's a matter of course.
Maicon, Garry Rodrigues and Ahmet Calik
Actually one wanted to separate from Ahmet Calik and Maicon before the beginning of the winter transfer period. The latter would have changed at the end of the summer transfer period with Bafetimbi Gomis almost together to the Arabian peninsula on loan basis. Now we hear that there is an offer available again. This time from Al-Ittihad, the club from Saudi Arabia trained by ex Besiktas coach Slaven Bilic. The Arabs would be willing to spend five million euros on the Brazilian. And that's not all. The Croatian coach would also like to see Garry Rodrigues in his ranks. Beijing Guoan, the former club of Burak Yilmaz, is also said to have expressed interest in the 28-year-old. A transfer of about ten million euros is under discussion. In view of the possible departure of Aziz and Kabak, however, the GS board does not seem particularly interested in handing over Maicon and Ahmet Calik. The 24-year-old central defender is said to be on the list of several Süper Lig clubs.
Tomorrow the transfer window for the winter break until 31.1.2019 will open in the Turkish Spor Toto Süper Lig. We will see what will happen and whether there will be surprises.
