Galatasaray have to pay dearly for the 1-0 victory over Erzurumspor. With Emre Akbaba and Eren Derdiyok fall two players for the time being. Badou Ndiaye will miss the team because of a red card.

Record champion in the Turkish Spor Toto Süper League Galatasaray will be without new signing Emre Akbaba in the coming weeks and months. The 25-year-old midfielder suffered a metatarsal failure in the match against promoted Erzurumspor (1-0) and will not be available after a surgery in the first round. Overall, Akbaba will fail the next three to four months injured and thus miss the preparatory phase for the second half of the new year.

Teammate Eren Derdiyok did not catch it that bad after all. The Swiss striker was injured in the game against Erzurum, but could be back on the pitch against Antalyaspor next weekend. It seems unlikely, however, that he will not play in the UEFA Champions League visit to FC Porto. Derdiyok is currently the most dangerous player in the squad of Fatih Terim with five competitive matches.

The central midfielder from Senegal, Badou Ndiaye, who returned to Galatasaray from Stoke City on loan, is also missing due to his recent red card from the last Champions League match against Russian opponent Lokomotiv Moscow.

Thus, the Turks will miss tonight 3 key players who were each a pillar of the team in their positions.
