Despite numerous suspensions and injuries, Galatasaray was able to score an important 3-0 away win in Kayseri and thus put an end to the negative series of five games without a win in a row outwards.
Galatasaray have finished five consecutive games without a win outwards, but in yesterdays away game against Kayserispor without the suspended coaches Fatih Terim and Hasan Sas on the side line they won with a strong game. After a convincing performance, the reigning champions won the game 3-0. The 21-year-old Henry Onyekuru, who celebrated his first double-pack in Turkey, became the match winner.
Although the yellow-reds had to give up the suspended Garry Rodrigues, Badou Ndiaye and Ryan Donk due to the events against Fenerbahce after the derby, and Maicon, Selcuk Inan and Sofiane Feghouli returned to the starting eleven in a 3-4-3 system that was unusual for Galatasaray, the record champion showed himself to be firm on the defensive right from the start and was also able to set some accents in the offensive. It was Onyekuru (18th min) who, after Feghouli's attempt to score, was able to get the ball into the opponent's box in perfect poacher fashion. Also in the further process of the first half the guests were superior the overlords. Ömer Bayram failed with his shot to Muammer Yildirim, while on the other side the hosts had a good chance by a long-range shot from Bernard Mensah to equalize.
In the second half, Onyekuru (75th min), after a long high pass from Inan, made the decision with his second goal a quarter of an hour before the end. Bayram (88th min) finally put after a cross from Mariano with a goal against his ex-club the final point. On the opposite side, Tiago Lopes had been flown off the pitch five minutes earlier after a foul on the later scorer with yellow-red.
Galatasaray's second away win in this season's campaign has raised the balance to 23 points, four points behind local rivals Medipol Basaksehir in second place. Kayserispor, on the other hand, will have to continue their relegation fight with twelve points. The record champions will receive Torku Konyaspor after the international break, while Kayserispor will travel to Aytemiz Alanyaspor, who is still level on points.
