After the departure of Ozan Kabak to VfB Stuttgart, Galatasaray provided a replacement on the central defender position and brought an old acquaintance back to Florya. Semih Kaya will switch to the yellow-red team on a loan basis until the end of the season. According to media reports, Kaya's club Sparta Prague will not be paid a rental fee, and the 27-year-old will receive around 700,000 euros until the end of the season.

The deal has not yet been officially confirmed, but Kaya has already been spotted in Florya on Friday. The 23-time Turkish international moved to the Czech Republic in the summer of 2017 for two million euros, but has since had to deal with many injuries, including a metatarsal fracture at the start of the 2017/18 season. In two years, Kaya's last compulsory match for Prague, dated 6 October 2018, was just 21, while ex-player Emre Colak, currently active in Saudi Arabia, ruled out a recall by the Turkish record champion via a public statement.
