The Istanbul derby between Fenerbahce and Besiktas disappointed the Süper Lig fans right down the line. Even the dream goal of Ryan Babel did not help.
The Monday match between Fenerbahce and Besiktas ended with Ryan Babel and Andre Ayew scoring with a 1-1 draw. Thus, the two top Istanbul clubs could not take advantage of the blunders of the competition in their favor and lag behind the end of the sixth match day the table top after. Especially Fenerbahce should not satisfy the draw. The troupe of Phillip Cocu had at the end of a slight increase in odds recorded, but at the same time also the ball security of the guests in the midfield was at times powerless delivered. Next week, the "canaries" will travel to Rize and Besiktas will visit Kayserispor in Vodafone Park.
The first half in Kadikoy was characterized by intense duels, many bad passes on both sides and little game flow. Overall, the home side had then the better impression and has until the break whistle and the more dangerous goal area scenes. Aatif Chahechouhe and Andre Ayew scored the best scoring chances for the Cocu team, who were also dangerous with wide shots, including a batsman from Hasan Ali Kaldirim. The local rivals, however, could rarely raise their usual passing game with the defensive starter and remained pale on offense accordingly. Ricardo Quaresma made the best scene for his team with a long-range shot before beating Ryan Babel's hour. The Dutchman prevailed in a duel against Mehmet Topal and scored from just under 30 meters with a world-class goal, the flattering half-time lead for Besiktas.
At the middle of the second half the goal blocked the hosts, who lost their playful line with a whistle and Besiktas left ball and room. The team of Senol Günes had now much more possession, but proved in the offensive but still not powerful enough. Just when the game finally threatened to fall asleep, the compensation for Fenerbahce fell from nothing. Kaldirim, who was playing well yesterday evening, played with a long cross to team-mate Ayew, who proved untenable for Loris Karius to make it 1-1. As a result, both teams showed extreme fatigue and failed to invest in their offensive play. Both the yellow-navy blue and the black-and-white shied until the injury time in the last risk to force the winning goal.
