Despite numerous opportunities, the Turkish national team had to settle for a goalless draw in the preparatory match against the Bosnian selection.

In the friendly against Bosnia and Herzegovina, both countries had to settle for a goalless draw. The Turks were thus able to complete the dress rehearsal before the important UEFA Nations League game against Russia only partially positive. The protégés of Mircea Lucescu earned after a bumpy start some chances, but always failed nerves in front of the box of the Bosnians. Noteworthy was the great support of the fans, who cheered their national team in the sold-out Caykur Didi Stadium until the last second.

First, both nations started the game rather slowly. But after a quarter of an hour, the guests began to put their stamp on the game. The first opportunity of the match had Bosnia after a bad pass from Caglar Söyüncü. Star striker Edin Dzeko grabbed the ball and fitted perfectly with his teammate Edin Visca. The Basaksehir player did not wriggle for long and shot straight for Sinan Bolat's chest, which could steer the ball over the crossbar. Three minutes later then a double chance for the Bosnians. First, Bolat deflected the shot from Goran Zakaric, the extra opportunity put Visca next to the box.

Lucescu's charges became dangerous for the first time in the 25th minute when Hakan Calhanoglu made a long shot on the spot, but Erzurumspor keeper Ibrahim Sehic was able to hold on to it easily. The Turks got better and tried again from a distance, this time with Cengiz Ünder. Sehic could barely steer the ball over his goal. Actually, the Turkish selection should have taken the lead in the 32nd minute. After great preparation by Oguzhan Özyakup Enes Ünal stood alone in front of the goalkeeper and awarded freestanding from five meters. Meanwhile, there were opportunities for Turkey. Again Calhanoglu came to a long shot - again just over.

Due to the substitution of star players like Dzeko, Miralem Pjanic and Visca on the side of the guests, the Turks took over more and more the scepter in the hand. By substituting Cenk Tosuns the Romanian coach hoped now also a better chance utilization. Turkey had more of the game during the second half, but clear chances to score did not take until the 68th minute.

Substitute Yunus Malli took the ball to the center of the field and opened the door. The winger struck a great cross, which Calhanoglu scored in a one-on-one against Asmir Begovic over the crossbar. Moments later, Tosun missed a hundred percent chance of scoring. Özyakup played the ball in the course of the Everton professionals, who initially took this technically clean, but failed at the conclusion. The last chance of the match was also played by the home side. After a corner in the final minute, the ball landed at Okay Yokuslu, who missed too surprisingly the winner for Turkey.
