It is no longer news that Sergio Ramos left Madrid last month, due to the expiration of his contract. Prior to this discussions on a renewal failed after there were issues with his contract extension– there was no agreement between club and player as to the length of the deal and this delayed proceedings before Los Blancos' deadline for an agreement passed. This made Ramos a free agent.

The 35 year old serial winner and immediate past captain of Real Madrid had multiple clubs( including Manchester City and Bayern Munich) drawing admiring glances at him as per to sign him, but now he has settled for one.

On Thursday afternoon the news was revealed by reputable Mohamed Bouhafsi of RMC Sport. He wrote confirming an agreement between PSG and Sergio Ramos saying that the player's brother had already landed Paris and has signed an agreement with the PSG management for a two-year deal for the Real Madrid legend and that the Medicals will take place in the next few days. This confirms it.

Furthermore, famous Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has since confirmed that Ramos will be signing for Mauricio Pochettino's side.

It has since been uncovered how PSG coach Mauricio Pochettino asked the club to strengthen in defence after they missed out on the Ligue 1 title to Lille and were beaten by Manchester City in the Champions League semifinal. Sources reveal that the Sporting Director of PSG Leonardo, presented a project that tickled Ramos' fancy, he reckoned it "ambitious".

Also Ramos views Paris as a more attractive city for his family as far as quick adaption and comfort is concerned. On a personal level he would be glad to re-unite with former teammates,Angel Di Maria and Keylor Navas, as well as close friend Neymar who has been communicating on phone with him urging him to accept PSG's offer.

Now I remember my previous post, it looking very prophetic indeed— https://scorum.com/en-us/football/@ogeewitty/sergio-ramos-off-to-psg . PSG will be banking on Ramos' over-size experience to guide them to domestic glory and European success next season. Ramos has become PSG's second signing of the summer. The French giants have already completed the signing of Georginio Wijnaldum after his contract expired with Liverpool. Gianluigi Donnarumma and Achraf Hakimi are close to completing moves to the club this month.

PSG are clearly not messing around this summer and they should really be a proper force to be reckoned with come the 2021/22 season.

It would be recalled that it is something of a shock world over that Ramos left Madrid, after 16 seasons, 22 trophies, 671 games and 101 goals,he being the serving Captain. In all with Madrid he won four UEFA Champions League titles, five Liga and the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

Bienvenu Ramos.
