ROMa - The feeling of anger was infecting AS Roma management because they failed to bring in players who were aiming for him, Malcom Filipe Silva de Oliveira, from Girondins de Bordeaux. The reason is, Rome felt it had been cheated by Bordeaux who suddenly canceled the deal related to Malcom's transfer and instead sold the Brazilian to Barcelona. No doubt, Rome was going to sue Bordeaux.

Rome Sports Director, Monchi, explained that before the transfer of Malcom to Barcelona was realized, it had already entered into an agreement with Bordeaux. In fact, when President Bordeaux, Stephane Martin, ask for extra money from Roma because Barca suddenly bid higher, Monchi said that his side has obeyed the will.

However, after Rome gave even higher bids, Martin re-contacted and asked for more because Barca again bid greater. Monchi also felt mocked with the condition and ended the negotiations. According to him, Rome has an agreement with Bordeaux who should be respected.

So, even if there are other clubs that bid Malcom at a higher price, Bordeaux should be able to reject it because it has entered into an agreement with Rome. Surely it is different from if Bordeaux have not accepted Roma's offer, so they can sell Malcol to another club freely.

"I was surprised when I was told that agents and Bordeaux wanted another better offer, because Barcelona were still pushing the deal. I tell them enough, because we do not want to enter the auction: we can not continue like that. So that's how it all ends, "Monchi said, quoting from the official AS Roma website on Wednesday (07/25/2018).

"Now, inside the club, we look at our options and see if we have a legal case. "It is true that nothing is signed, but there are many messages with their agents and presidents that are at least worthy of being assessed," Monchi said.
