Former Manchester United’s full-back Gary Neville has stated he didn’t find it funny sharing a hotel room with fellow British man David Beckham back in Manchester United days.

While the duo were much younger, precisely when both just broke into the senior team, circumstances meant they had to share a hotel room during Manchester United away games.

Gary Neville has stated it was quite difficult for them.

In their spell at United, both were a joy to watch down the right-hand flank under manager Sir Alex Ferguson. However, they were unsuitable while sharing a dwelling place.

Before players began taking private rooms Gary Neville and David Beckham had to share a hotel room for six months.

Life for both

While at a room together, the duo were not suitable for each other as a result of three reasons.

Firstly Gary Neville was an early sleeper, while David Beckham was the stack opposite.

Neville would love to go to bed at 9 pm and wake up by 5 am, While Beckham had the schedule of staying up till 11 pm and would want to wake up by 8 am.

Neville always faced the temptation of staying up till 11 pm but would still want to wake up by 5 am. It simply was difficult.

Secondly, their view of cleanliness was also a major difference.

Beckham was referred to by Neville as the ‘cleanest man one would ever see’. He would always want everything to be orderly and neat.

However, Neville wasn’t necessarily as orderly as Beckham. He would want to keep his things wherever he wanted, Beckham was always opposed to that.

Thirdly, Neville was an extrovert who would love to talk and argue on issues. However, Beckham would want to listen to music, to be chilled and to have his private time.

The duo were simply distinct personalities.

What do you think? Were this enough reasons to have found it difficult staying with a roommate?

I would love comments.
