Egyptian legend Mohammed Salah has insisted that he desires to stay at Anfield beyond his current contract. However, he has pointed out that the decision is not in his hands to make. But in the hands of Liverpool.

This statement is coming after many have suggested the winger has no desire of remaining at Anfield.

Mohammed Salah's contract

The current contract of the Egyptian king runs until 2023. Hence, there have been lots of talks over his contract extension.

Salah is willing to extend. However, he would be doing so on his terms, because he believes he has earned the right.

So far, Liverpool executives have failed to attain the expectations of Salah. Leading to an inconclusive contract extension.

Salah's viewpoint

According to reports, the Egyptian winger is interested in a contract extension deal from 300,000 to 350,000 a weeks wage. So far, he has insisted he would be sticking to it.

On the other hand, Liverpool executives are hoping the Egyptian and his agent would settle for something less.

Conclusion

Considering how valuable Mohammed Salah has been to all Liverpool have done in the past 3-4 years, it is surprising the executives are thinking it twice to give him a deal.

With Salah not keen on cutting down his demands, it would be interesting to see the reaction of the Liverpool executives in the coming weeks.
