English man and Tottenham forward Harry Kane has continuously been in the news of late. Reports in England have suggested his desperate need for trophies, may lead him away from the White Heart Lanes.

However, he was in a festive mood on the last day of the 2020/2021 English premier league season. Harry Kane netted a goal and provided an assist as Tottenham defeated Leceister City by 4goals to 2.

The English man was instrumental as Tottenham cemented a place in the Europa League slots.

Harry Kane and Tottenham love story

Harry Kane has remained with Tottenham, despite their failure to win a trophy for over a decade.

In the years of Tottenham’s quest for trophies, no one could question the attitude of Harry Kane. The forward had always been a devoted member of the squad, delivering world-class performances week in and week out.

Without a doubt, on what is supposedly meant to be his last game for Spurs Harry Kane was on point once again. Leading the team and making sure their European places were booked. While finishing as both top-scorer and assist provider in the league.

Leicester City's quest for Champions League places

A win against Tottenham would have been enough for Leicester to finish among the top-four teams. However, Brendan Rodgers's men failed to hold their own when it mattered the most.

The game was pretty much a ding dong affair before the breakthrough came courtesy of Jamie Vardy from the penalty spot.

After the goal from Jamie Vardy, both sides had their moments but it was Tottenham’s moment that came next. Harry Kane netted the equaliser after some poor defensive display from Leceister City.

Minutes after what seemed like a reply by Tottenham, Vardy charged with another pressing run from the right-hand flank. However, he was once again stopped in his tracks inside the penalty area.

Cool as an ice, Vardy scored the second goal that put Leicester ahead once again.

Yet again, Tottenham still had their response. Heung Min Son floated in an inswinger which was mistakenly punched into the net by Leicester's Kasper Schmeichel. Making it two-all.

After the equaliser, Leicester City's defence remained in Shambo giving room for goals from Lucas Moura and Gareth Bale at the later exchanges.

Conclusion

As painful as it may be, Leicester City would be plying their trade at the European second division tournament next season.

After receiving this dagger to the heart, the Leicester fans can only hope their team comes up strong next season and provides a better top-four challenge.
