According to reports in England, five-time Balon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo has identified what he believes is the reason behind Manchester United's poor form.

From his statement, Ronaldo made it clear that Manchester United would have to move the ball quicker if they are to fully utilize their attacking intent.

Ronaldo's current stats with Manchester United

On his return to Old Trafford, the Portuguese legend scored a brace on his debut game. After his debut game, he has gone on to hit an overall feat of 5 goals in five games for the Red Devils.

The fives goal no doubt includes his impressive winning goal against Villareal in the Champions League.

Ronaldo's performances alone will not be enough

No doubt, the five-time Balon d'Or winner has produced some scintillating displays for Manchester United. However, his performances alone would not be enough if Manchester United desire to go far in European competition.

This fact was proven in games against Young Boys, Aston Villa in the Premier League and even Villareal where United escaped by whiskers.

The way forward for Manchester United

That being said, Ronaldo has insisted the other Manchester United players need to step up and move the ball quicker in other to utilise the spaces in between opposition lines.

This will not only open up spaces but will also enable the team to see more of the possession on the opposition half.

Conclusion

The contributions from Ronaldo on and off the pitch has been brilliant. We can only hope that Manchester United players step up and live up to the billing.
