The race for Everton's managerial position is about to get more interesting. Previously, it was understood that the likes of Wayne Rooney and Frank Lampard topped the managerial wish list.

Nonetheless, with a recent turn of events, things are about to get more interesting. The executives at Goodison Park have now added Italian defender Fabio Cannavaro to their managerial list.

In other words, he joins the already existing English duo in the managerial consideration list.

Fabio Cannavaro's managerial career

The Italian legend has been a manager since sometime in 2015. However, his managerial experience has barely been called into question in Europe.

He has overseen a handful of clubs in the Chinese super league. As well as spent some time in the Saudi Arabian league.

Weighing the better option

In terms of managerial experiences in Europe, the likes of Wayne Rooney and Frank Lampard look to be the better option. However, we can never tell what Fabio Cannavaro has got on his belt.

Secondly, looking for a manager with top-class European experience, then Frank Lampard is the man. As he has managed Chelsea at the highest level.

Lastly, in terms of long-term project consideration, Wayne Rooney looks like the man with such a vision.

Conclusion

The three options considered by Everton all have their strong points. However, the final decisions rest in the hands of the executives at Goodison Park.

And only time can reveal their final decision.
