Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has played down a possible transfer move for Kylian Mbappe is January.

In a recent press conference, Ancelotti highlighted that the team was focused on who was available. And would rather not talk about people who are not available.

Pundits have linked the statement with the arrival of Kylian Mbappe. Insisting the Frenchman's arrival may only happen during the summer.

Mbappe's current contract situation

Mbappe's contract with the Paris-Saint-German side is set to run out during the summer of 2022. Hence, he is eligible to sign a pre-contract deal with Real Madrid.

Nonetheless, Los Blancos seem to be taking the deal as calmly as possible. They prefer to get the Frenchman for free during the summer. As opposed to paying any fee for him in January.

Pundits share their thoughts

Some pundits in Spain have suggested the Champions League clash would be a determining factor.

However, Ancelotti seems to be having none of that. As it is almost certain Mbappe would be arriving at the Bernabeu during the summer transfer window.

Conclusion

Mbappe is willing to exit PSG. However only time would reveal if Real Madrid would be able to seal the deal come 2022 summer window.
