According to reports from Spain, Welsh legend Gareth Bale intends to announce his retirement at the climax of this current Real Madrid deal.

As it stands, Bale has one more year in his current Real Madrid deal. Nonetheless, it is obvious that unless there is a miracle, Florentino Perez and his cohorts have no plan of renewing the wingers deal.

Bearing that in mind, reports suggest the winger has his mind fixed on announcing his retirement from club football at the end of the 2021/2022 season.

What Bale's decision would mean for his career

The retirement to be announced at the end of the 2021/2022 club season, would be for club level alone.

In other words, the Welshman still has his eyes on leading his country to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

However, Wales’ qualification to the World Cup is far from certain. They would still have to put a string of top-notch performances to see them through.

Details of Wales World Cup qualifiers

A handful of teams in Europe have already played a couple of World Cup qualifying games.

For Wales, they only managed 3 points out of a possible 6 in their two opening encounters.

In the opening game, Gareth Bale and his colleagues suffered a defeat at the hands of Belgium.

Nonetheless, they were able to squeeze out a victory in the second fixture against the Czech Republic.

Bale's reaction to Wales exit from the Euros

After the exit of Wales from the ongoing Euro2020 campaign, the winger had a few things to say about the loss.

He insisted the team desired to go far in the competition. Maintaining that it was disheartening to have exited when they did.

However, Bale stated in no uncertain terms that all Welsh players gave their all.

It is apparent, that Gareth Bale has made peace with the possibility of being kicked out of Real Madrid at the climax of next season.

In line with that, he is taking drastic steps to make sure he is ready for whatever the outcome may be.
