Just like we all know that the revolution taking place in the area of technology today in our society did not left the world of football alone with the introduction of Video Assistance Referee otherwise known as VAR. While many people really support it usage in football generally, some still hold the assertion that it introduction is killing some spirit considering those periods when the match will be stopped to access the error.

Gone are those days when players will commit an offense and escape it just because the referee is far from where the incident occurs, aside from the central referee and it assistance on the pitch now, there are other referee that are watching the game from the screen to make sure everything goes the way it should be and if there is any where the central referee is missing it, they will call his attention to it from the control room.

The English Premier League adopted it usage from the beginning of the season and lot of progress has been made and there are some cases which VAR has failed to attend to which has make many coaches to speak out their mind. The use of VAR has gave some clubs penalties and while it has also denied some teams some crucial points. So far so good, VAR is making progress in changing so many things in the round leather game but there is need to evaluate how far in terms of error avoided and the good side of it.

According to Mike Riley who is the chief of referee in the EPL admitted that VAR has made 4 errors so far since it was adopted but some still don't accept it was just errors. The chief went ahead to identify those errors which VAR has made so far, the first one was Schar's goal when Newcastle was playing against Watford and the second error made by VAR was when Tielemans committed a foul against Callum Wilson in the game between Leicester and Bournemouth. VAR failed to address this issues.

There are sometimes when the referee will forget to make some decisions probably he didn't see it when it happen and his attention will be call to it immediately from the Video Assistance Referee, the other two errors identify by the chief of referee was on the referee part and VAR also has failed to call the attention of the referee to it. Manchester City would have gotten a penalty kick against Bournemouth when Jefferson foul David Silva in the box and the last one was the match between West Ham and Norwich when Tom brought West Ham striker Haller down in the box as well. Chelsea boss Frank Lampard in his own side believes it is more than 4 errors committed by VAR as he also his team deserves a penalty against Norwich but the referee and VAR failed to award it.

Aside from all these errors made by VAR so far, it has also made some good decision in the league which shows that it adoption will make things right as far as it progresses in the league.
