The English league last week kicked off and it was Liverpool up against Norwich City, the team that was just promoted to the league from the second division and it doesn't go well with the team at all as Liverpool make the season look too long for them with a 4-1 welcome back message. It was such a great humiliation for a team like Norwich who is just coming back to the league and I think they were just a little bit unlucky to play against a strong opponent like Liverpool in the opening day.

Playing against a team who won the UEFA champions league last season and a team who lost the league to Manchester city with just a point is like nightmare for Norwich because they are well organised and clinical in front of goal, having players like Salah, Mane, Firmino in the attacking role. These are great players who can score over 20 goals per season and this season I think they really need the league more than they do last season and that is why they took the match to that level by scoring 4 goals before the break with Norwich managing to reply them with just a goal.

It been so long since Liverpool won they league last and last season they were just unfortunate to have Manchester city in the league, it was a battle from start to finish and since they k ow what City is capable of, they don't just need a win but with a greater goal margin to sit on top of the log table in the week one games, although Manchester city went ahead the next day to thrashed West ham 5-0 to over take them.

The atmosphere was really great at Anfield stadium when the long awaiting season finally kicked start and the kick off whistle was blown, Liverpool never took so long before opening their scoring account for the season, although the first goal was an own goal but all the credit still went to Origi when Hanley mistakenly converted Origi cross into his own net in jus 7 minutes of the game. Origi after helping the reds to win the UEFA champions league trophy last season started the game ahead of Mane together with Salah and Brazilian forward Firmino. Norwich though had some chances in the game to level the scoreline through Stiepermann three minutes after the own goal but Liverpool goalkeeper Allison did well to save it.

Mohammed Salah added to the scoreline to make it 2-0 when the game enter 19 minutes when Firmino received a loose ball in the Norwich box and played it to Salah who beat Norwich goalkeeper Krul with the ball. Shortly after the second goal, Stiepermann also had another chance to pull one goal back for Norwich but his effort was denied by Allison and Liverpool continues to show why they are ready for the season before Van Dijk gave them the third goal with a powerful headed in the 28 minutes, Norwich really paid for a poor defense here because Van Dijk didn't struggle for the third goal and just before the half break, Origi connected with Trent Alexander-Arnold's cross to make it 4-0 for Liverpool.

Liverpool continues to dominate the game when the second half resumed, in fact, they dominated the first 60 minutes of the game until Norwich try to come back to the game and they were so unlucky to have taken the scoreline to 6 nil when Henderson efforts was denied by Krul and Salah shot went wide the far post. Norwich finally got their consolation goal through Pukki in the 64 minutes and it was a fine finish from the striker from Emiliano through pass.

Welcome To The League

It was really a moan day for Norwich though but the season had just started and they need to go back to the board and analyse what really went wrong, although it is not easy to face Liverpool but for a team who is just coming to the league and will wish to remain in the league, the shouldn't have conceded more goals like they did, they need to forget about the match and focus in their next opponent. What I will just tell the club is to forget about the past and move in because there is no any future in the past.
