My moan day post for this week will be around Tottenham manager Pochettino and there is a reason while am choosing him ahead of Manchester United manager Ole Solskjaer because both manager chances of being with their respective club till December is very slim, though they can still go beyond that but that will be if things suddenly turn around for good. Right now things is getting worst for Pochettino at Tottenham, the club he had been with for almost 4 season now and has really turned to title contender over the years is suddenly sleeping off.
Pochettino side this season has been able to manage just 3 wins out of 8 league matches, drawing 2 and loosing 3 of it and that has placed the team in 9th position on the log table just 4 points behind team in the relegation zone. This has even make the club board to be considering some possible replacement for him if things continues like that probably in the next 2-3 league matches. Pochettino is a tactician who really understand his game plan very well and this we can see in the way he has changed the look of the club over years and making them challenging for different trophies across Europe.
Their recent 3-0 lost to Brighton in the league has really turned him to an object of a scornful at the club and many of the club fans are now calling for his sanction at the club. Coming back from a defeat in the champions league from the hand of Bayern Munich which was so embarrassing, the club really need to bounce back with a win but the game against Brighton also added to the scar as they were also thrashed away from home 3-0.
The host team were ahead in the game in just 3 minutes from Maupay after Tottenham goal keeper made a silly error. Aside from that, Brighton made them to suffer a lot with lot of chances at goal. They had 17 shots compared to 8 from Tottenham and they also came close in 6 different occasions.
Another problem the team had in the match is the injury sustained by Lloris in the process after just 8 minutes and had to be substituted for Gazzaniga and before the half break, the host were leading the game 2-0. Connolly double the lead again in the 32 minutes and this is where everybody is now begin to wonder what may really be the problem for a team that made it to the champion league final last season but couldn't start from where they stopped last season. They are already out of the Carabao cup and with the way things is going on now in the league, there is not probability that they will make it back to the top 4 come the end of the season.
Everyone was expecting something different from the team in the second half probably they should pull a great come back into the game or at least force the game to a draw but it doesn't go as expected as Connolly made it 3 in the 65 minutes, although, Tottenham made a good start to the second half but it was the 19 years old boy that killed their hope in the second half with his strike and the lost now take Tottenham to 10 away matches without a win since winning Fulham in January 2-1 and in total, the team has lost 17 games so far in this year in all competition. Although Lucas Moura had a chance twice to score for Tottenham in the second half after coming in for Son Heung-Min in the 73 minutes but was denied by Brighton goal keeper.
My Word Of Encouragement For Pochettino
I will like to encourage Pochettino with what Albert Einstein says about opportunity that
In the middle of every difficulty lies opportunity.
The team can still come together and achieve something great again.
