Last week witnessed so many falls in the world of sport, most especially the fall of Kobe Bryant in the world of basket ball and it is a kind of fall that can never be reverse and my prayer is that Almighty God should make his family strong. Since moan day post is based on falls that needs encouragement, then my moan day post for this week will be centered on Barcelona new manager Quique Setien and the entire team because their game against Valencia last week didn't went as planned. It is no more news that Barcelona as parted ways with Ernesto Valverde earlier this month and immediately appoints Setien the man who has worked with Real Betis and fully understand league to some length. Although he had a good start at the club with a narrow win against Granada in his first game, what a good way to start ones journey at a club like Barcelona who always demand for positive results and follow that game against Granada was a Copa del Rey match against third division club Ibiza which also ended in a win for the team but also came in a narrow way, 2-1 to be precised. With the two results, one may easily deduce that the manager is still taking his time to familiar with the club and the players because Barcelona as a team is not the type of team that always suffer before getting result with their tiki taka pattern of playing.
Setien honey moon at the club finally came to an end when the team visited Valencia at Mestalla last week, Valencia this season are unbeaten at home and that alone before the game make lots of football fans to be anticipating for the outcome of the game, Barcelona as far as modern football is concern are one of the top clubs in Europe with the way they make every of their opponents worked tirelessly in every game and it will be hard any day to go against them when it comes to putting money in their games. I personally, since I have been watching their games will always believe they will win all their games in every season with a player like Lionel Messi in the team, every opponents playing against them will have to worry for some minutes or days in choosing the right tactics to use against them, he has always been consistent in the team and always make something out of nothing for the club but against Valencia, he was unable to rescue a point for the team despite having the highest shot in that encounter.
Setien men enjoyed almost 90% of the ball possession when the game kick off, one of those things the club is well know for, it will be hard for any team to dominate against them but despite all the ball possession, it was Valencia who first had the chance to go ahead in the game when Pique kicked Gaya in the box with 10 minutes been played and were award a penalty kick which was taken by Gomes but Barcelona goalkeeper Ter Stegen did well to save it, the goalkeeper has produced some wonderful saves so far this season most especially, in the game against A.Madrid, the host after losing the spot kick through Gomes fully get themselves into the game and also came close few minutes later where Pique would have converted the ball into his own net but Ter Stegen was so much alive to stop the ball from entering his own net. Barcelona was award a free kick in the 28 minutes but Messi effort went wide, Valencia were fully in the game as they forced Ter Stegen to another save through Gomes and Coquelin another effort from Lionel Messi was also denied by Valencia goalkeeper before the half break.
The second half resumed and the host continues to press forward and finally in the 48 minutes, they got their chances right when Gomes directed a shot towards goal and was deflected in by Alba, the home fans were full of elation and would have wish the game just come to an end because Barcelona is not that type of a team that will easily surrender to a one goal lead, the visitor push for an equalizer and they had their best chance to cancel out the lead through Messi but the Argentina Captain shot went wide across the post, he would have gotten his name on the score sheet but all his effort to save a point for his team did not yielded a positive result with his shot in the 67 minutes also hitting the top of the net and finally in the 77 minutes, Valencia killed the game with another goal from Gomes which took the scoreline to 2-0 lead and another effort to make it 3 goals lead was denied when Paulista converted in a corner that was later ruled out for a foul before the referee blew the final whistle.
My Word For Satien
Although the manager won his first two matches and with a closer look at the game against Valencia, It is obviously clear that the team will suffer so much without their captain, most especially with players like Suarez and Dembele out to injury, they will find it very hard to win some matches and with that, I will like to tell Satien if he will be privilege to see this what J.K. Rowling said that
It is impossible to live without failing at something, unless you live so cautiously that you might as well not have lived at all, in which case you have failed by default.
